My Poem: Memory

© 2009 Hachiko Yukimora

As I remember
In a fantastical world where no pain freely flowed
An interruption bestowed upon us
Stolen imperfections plucked away our happy souls
Life stopped short of sixty-one lovely years
You were gone
Away from this world
Into your own portrait of heaven
Away into an endless dream
As I remember
Lushous gardens of honey-scented flowers
In my dream there are no tears
Only bright lights and sounding laughters
Beckoning for me to come near
