My Poem: The Clerk's Dream

After a forgotten author, which the action I am not proud of.
© 2009 Hachiko Yukimora

I’m going to save
my money and someday
buy a store in the neighborhood.
Me and my wife will run it.
I’ll be my own boss.
And when I take money
out of the till
it will be all mine.

I’m going to be
on those cunning weekdays
the man that walks around the store
dominating over others
store by store.
bit by bit.
I will take the money.
It will be oh so fine.

I’m going to breathe
in oblivic space one day.
The pilot of a spaceship.
Me and my wife will run it.
We’ll live in this dream.
I’m going to save my money.
In hot pursuit with every dime.
